Happy 1st Birthday Solomon!

The candles on Solomon's cakes are some that Mrs. Teri used. While it is a little thing, it was nice to have something that she had picked out at Sol's first birthday. She sure is happy right now.
He acted embarrassed when we sang "Happy Birthday"

It's my party and I can cry if I want to.
Birthday morning with his new toys.

Maggie and Solomon relaxing after a busy day.

This has been the best year. It has gone by so fast! Solomon weighs 24lbs (75%) and is 60.5'' tall (90%) and is head circumference is in the 90th percentile.
Solomon is so happy around a crowd and is a people person. I think he's a lot like me. When I was growing up mom always said that I hung up my halo when I got home. That's Sol. He will fall asleep peacefully when we're in a crowd, but if we're at home he throws a fit every time, nap time and bedtime.
We're amazed everyday with something else he learns. He can baa, bark, neigh, say ball, mama, dada, bye-bye, hi, and pa pa. His first sentence: "no mama" I had mixed tofu in with blueberry applesauce and after a few bites he had enough. I don't blame him.
He doesn't eat much, but he drinks a lot of whole milk. If he becomes lactose intolerant we are in trouble. He eats mainly cheese, milk, and yogurt. He isn't breastfeeding anymore. I thought we would have a tougher time weaning. I think he just got too busy to sit and nurse. He still wants to nurse to take a nap and when he wakes up. I wish I could feed him because I would love the extra sleep, but I don't want to regress. Instead of nursing now he falls asleep on top of me. Sometimes he puts his face up against mine and falls asleep. I'm afraid nursing was more comfortable than this.
He still screams when Neall and I leave in the morning. Poor Mrs. Linda has to deal with it everyday unless he's outside playing when I leave, then he's ok.
He loves for me to read to him. He gets a book and throws it on my lap and grunts. I have a big stack in every room, so we're prepared when he's ready to read. He loves Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See? (Thanks Emily)
